Redeveloping to serve expanding community

London Borough of Tower Hamlets’ Poplar Business Park listed for mixed-use redevelopment and a detailed planning application was made. The said 1.65ha site is currently occupied by light industrial infrastructures, three 2-storey office, and associated parking lot. The redevelopment that will take place has been designed to urban village scheme with the inclusion of the village’s square at its heart. Involving building of between 3 and 30-storey tall buildings with a new office business centre, light industrial warehousing, 310 residential units, a 90 beds hotel, restaurant floor space and associated parking and landscaping.

As this development is designed for the community, one of the key feature of Poplar Business Park has to be its public square, which serves as the central fulcrum of the buildings and businesses that surrounds it. Highly accessible and safe, the development is also woven with subtle yet natural landscaping to provide a strong and distinctive identity for the community.

In line with our vision of creating an inclusive development, the community and public are invited to be involved in the design development process. Forums were conducted to get feedback and comments on the development allowing us to ensure that Poplar Business Park will have a positive impact on the community.
